Buick Rendezvous was a sports utility vehicle manufactured by General Motors from 2002. There are several problems that are associated with sports utility vehicles, the most prominent among them being the fact that one has to be extremely careful using them ,their seating capacity and height are less and they should be driven only in good road conditions. The Buick Rendezvous was launched as an answer to all these problems.

It was marketed as a combination of a sports utility vehicle, a minivan and a luxury vehicle, combining all their best features. The Rendezvous provided an all wheel drive system called Versatrak to help in the movement even in times of snow, an independent rear suspension system, seating capacity up to seven along with a third row, storage space and several other features. The Buick Rendezvous was manufactured from the year 2002 to 2007. This site is all about the 2004 buick rendezvous.

The 2004 Buick Rendezvous came with a more powerful V6 engine. It was offered in five levels of CX, CX Plus, CXL, CXL Plus, and Ultra. It had a 3350 cc 3.6 L V6 engine delivering 185 horsepower with the option of front wheel drive or all wheel drive whereas the Ultra which was newly introduced had a 3.6L V6 engine delivering up to 254 hp with leather seating and a security system. At a height of 68.9 inches without the roof rack, it stood tall. The red light at the rear was reduced by two inches.

The 2004 Buick Rendezvous was priced between the ranges of $26,420 - $29,610 depending on the model. A dvd based entertainment system and a radio was available on select models. It had a fuel economy of 18-19 mpg on city roads and 24-26 mpg on highways.

From 2007 the production of Buick Rendezvous stopped and as such the latest Rendezvous model in the current 2009 market of Buick is the 2007 version. Only the CX and CXL trims versions were made available. It had a rear park assist system which could detect obstacles while parking. Only front wheel drive was made possible in these models.

The 2004 buick rendezvous CXL version had mahogany wheels which was offered as an option in the CX model. The models were priced between the ranges of $25,190 - $28,765.The engine was a 3498 cc 3.5 L V6 offering 195 hp. It has a fuel economy of 19 mpg on city roads and 26 mpg on highways.

The interiors, styling and some of the features it offered did not appeal to customers and as such its production was halted in 2007. However in spite of some weaknesses ,it is still bought by people, who like its features of space, fuel economy and ride comfort. Dont let that stop you from taking a closer look at the 2004 buick rendezvous though.

Owners of the 2004 Buick Rendezvous marvel at how this vehicle makes sure of a safe and convenient travel. However, it is understandable that most vehicles no matter how great they may seem always have its own share of downfalls.

If you are planning of buying your own 2004 Buick Rendezvous, take a look at what some owners have to say on about the Con’s of owning one.

Owner 1
I was driving fine when at around 32k miles, I noticed that the transmission started to slip. At 34k miles, I heard groaning noises from the differential every time I made a slow turn. I had no other choice but to have it replaced. Maintenance can be quite expensive. I paid $185 to get a fluid flush of the differential. At around 40k miles, the computer suddenly died. I could no longer start the car. The option I got was to have it towed and get the computer reprogrammed.

Owner 2
I think that the side mirrors are way too big. This makes me unable to see of cars turning towards me or of people walking in the sidewalks. The brakes can also be inconvenient at times.

Owner 3
I have three basic complaints about my 2004 Rendezvous – the cargo area, the back hatch and the lights. I am happy that the lights have its own automatic feature. However, there are times when I want to drive with the lights off. The only options I have are “on” and “auto.” I wish they had the “off” option as well. I also hear horrible squeaks coming from the back hatch. Whenever the radio is off, the noise can be clearly heard especially when driving through bumpy roads. Lastly, my rear seats always seem to fold down for cargo space. The worse part is they do not fold flat.

Owner 4
The large side mirrors seem to be quite a problem to me. So far, the Buick’s mirrors are the largest that I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I use the big mirrors when I back up. Backing up is a bit difficult since because of the car’s rear windows. Since I cannot fully see what’s behind me, I rely on the side mirrors instead.

Every car has its own pro’s and con’s. If you plan to buy a 2004 Buick Rendezvous, be sure to conduct a quick yet thorough research about the vehicle. You can find a wide range of reviews online. Fairly weigh the positive and the negative aspects of the vehicle. Doing so will help decide whether or not buying a 2004 Buick Rendezvous will suit your lifestyle.

On May 2007, the division of General Motors launched its new SUV model for 2008, the Buick Enclave, which replaced the popular buick rendezvous. Buick Enclave is a full-size luxury crossover SUV. It is partially based on the Buick Centieme shown at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show. It has the same feature as the new GM Lambda platform, just like GMC Acadia, Chevrolet Traverse and Saturn Outlook. The Enclave replaced Buick’s SUVs such as the minivan-based Rendezvous, the truck-based Rainer, as well as the Terraza minivan.

So what kind of vehicle could replace the buick rendezvous? Well, the Buick Enclave shares the same platform and mechanical underpinning with the Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse. It comes with a standard front-wheel drive with an option of all wheel drive. The Enclave has a seating capacity for at least seven passengers, with an optional second row bench seat instead of the standard chairs which increases the seating capacity to eight.

For its first year of production, Enclave was powered by a 275 hp (205 kW) 3.6 L High Feature V6 engine matted to a six-speed automatic transmission. Enclave also shares power trains with its Lambda siblings. The 2009 model, a 3.6L V6 SIDI (direct injected) VVT with 286 hp (213 kW) and 255ft. lbf (346 N.m) of torque standard (the same standard with other 2009 Lambdas). According to United States Environmental Protection Agency the latter direct-injection engine is commended for offering a broader torque curve, bringing fuel economy to 17 mpg-us (14 L/100 km; 20 mpg-imp)/24 mpg-US (9.8 L/100 km; 29 mpg-imp) for FWD models and 16 mpg-US (15 L/100 km; 19 mpg-imp)/22 mpg-US (11 L/100 km; 26 mpg-imp) for AWD models

Lambda vehicles are built at GM’s new Delta Township Assembly plant near Lansing Michigan, and production of the Enclave commenced on 11 April 2007, with its first vehicles reaching certain dealers by the end of the month. It’s first model debuted with a starting price of $32,790. GM also stepped up the warranty, with 5-year/100,000-mile power train coverage compared to Buick‘s normal 4-year/50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper basic warranty.

About 1 inch (25mm) longer that it’s Lambda siblings, enclave was considered the largest uni-body vehicle. Enclave was often praised because of its subsequently huge cargo space while maintaining the relatively dynamic nature of uni-body construction over the conventional body-on-frame. Enclave was also praised because it is considered as one of the quietest vehicles available in the United States, and also for the quality of its interior design. The Buick Enclave is also often referred to as the “best vehicle GM makes”. Lastly many admire this SUV because of its good looks.

But because of its 6-speed transmission, the Enclave was often criticized because of its uncertain downshift. On 2009, its power train was even more competent having more abundant torque. For its entire production, weighing nearly 5,000 pounds (2,300 kg) with all-wheel-drive it has been regarded as too heavy. So I guess this marks the end of the buick rendezvous legacy. I still think the best buick suv is the 2004 buick rendezvous, but thats just me.

The 2004 Buick Rendezvous has many improvements over the 2002 edition. The 2004 Buick Rendezvous has a good number of features and options that are available, and even if you were to choose most of the options, you would still be able to purchase the vehicle for less than $45,000.

Many owners state that the comfort level and driving of the Rendezvous is far superior to other vehicles in the same class. There is plenty of head room for those who are tall. The ride is smooth, and comparable to a car rather than an SUV. The vehicle is quite sound proof and most road noise is completely silenced. The chairs are fully adjustable, including up and down, and due to the large mirrors, if the chairs are properly set, most blind spots are eliminated. The 2004 buick rendezvous seats 7 adults comfortably.

The vehicle is also very stylish, with beautiful lines, and has a very clean look. The inside is designed beautifully, and is esthetically pleasing. The vehicle itself is a work of art, and owners are proud of the elegant look of the vehicle. The designers also took into consideration the functionality of the design. The doors are wide enough for people to easily get in and out, as well as easily be able to place large packages and items into the vehicle.

The cargo space is second to none, especially when the back seats are folded down. The designers have utilized every ounce of space for storage. There are plenty of storage compartments throughout the vehicle. In the front, there is a center console that locks. The console is large enough that you can place a laptop on the top of it easily.

As already stated, the Rendezvous drives much like a car. It is easy to drive, and provides a clear view of the road due to its height. Surprisingly enough, it is also a very easy vehicle to park as the design and size of the vehicle prevents this from being a difficult task. In both rain and snow, it handles beautifully. One more important feature is that it has excellent fuel efficiency for this type of vehicle.

The options that are available make this already wonderful machine a true luxury automobile. The stereo is high quality, and is equipped with XM Satellite Radio. If you haven’t experienced this particular feature, it is something that is a wonderful option. Also available is a rear seat DVD system for the kids. You can also be equipped with On Star, which is an invaluable feature in the event of an emergency. The dashboard is cleverly designed, and the gauges are very easy to read. You also can have the option of heads up display. HUD is a fantastic feature as it allows the driver to see speed and other necessary gauges projected onto the windshield, so your eyes never have to leave the road.

The 2004 Buick Rendezvous is an affordable, luxury crossover. It has both functionality and style. The options that you can add make this vehicle truly a dream to drive. Resale values of the 2004 Buick Rendezvous can bring you up to $18,000, which for a six year old vehicle is excellent. It is not only a pleasure to drive, but a smart investment.

The Buick Rendezvous combines aspects of Sport Utility Vehicles, minivans and wagons. It has crossed over all the lines that had previously separated sedans, minivans and SUVs, thus defying categorization. And the 2004 buick rendezvous is no exception.

Rendezvous is a versatile vehicle seating five to seven passengers. It shares a basic structure with the Pontiac Aztek, but is longer to allow third row seating and this makes the vehicle roomy and very comfortable. The seating set-up depends on how you choose to fold and configure it. It depends upon the cargo you are bringing or the number of people you need to carry, either way you are assured of more than enough space.

The car comes with a 3.4 liter V6 engine and has a horsepower of 185 at 5200 rpm and 210 pounds of foot torque at 4000 rpm, enough to handle anything you might throw at it.

It also comes with a four speed automatic transmission and either front wheel drive or all wheel drive, which ever you choose. However, the four-wheel or all wheel drive will cost you extra.

The 2004 buick Rendezvous is offered in five trim levels: CX, CX Plus, CXL, CXL PLUS and Ultra, with Ultra being the highest class and CX the lower class of the five. Additional features standard on Ultra and optional on other models are rear-obstacle detection, satellite radio and head-up instrument display. Nearly, all of the features that come with Ultra are available as stand-alone options such as Ultra’s more powerful engine, anti-lock brakes, side-impact airbags and traction control. These are all for your safety benefit.

You can also add a DVD entertainment or the multi-media navigation system, provided that you have at least a Rendezvous CXL. They also offer a towing package which if your Rendezvous is properly equipped, can tow 3,500 pounds. The towing package includes a high output alternator, transmission of oil cooler, heavy duty engine cooling and automatic load leveling.

The 2004 Buick Rendezvous rides more smoothly and offers more responsive handling than a SUV and was quiet for an SUV but a little noisy if compared to luxury sedan standards. The Rendezvous also handles surprisingly well even in treacherous conditions, such as sandy and rocky arroyos, when equipped with an all-wheel drive. Its all wheel drive system called Versatrak requires no input from the driver and has sensors that automatically turn on the four-wheel drive when it deems traction assistance is needed.

If you are on a budget and still looking for a really nice ride, then you can never go wrong with the 2004 Buick Rendezvous!

This post is gonna be on the buick rendezvous cxl, probably the best way to go in my opinion. The buick rendezvous cxl is the middle model and is downright just an awesome vehicle. The 2004 buick rendezvous cxl comes with a 3.4 liter V6 engine and has a horsepower of 185 at 5200 rpm and 210 lbs of foot torque at 4000 rpm, enough to handle anything you might throw at it. The 2004 buick rendezvous cxl comes with a standard 4 speed automatic transmission and either front wheel drive or all wheel drive, which ever you choose. The all wheel drive option will cost you a little more but well worth it in my opinion.

Why is the buick rendezvous cxl better then the other two models available? Well, the ultra model costs a little bit more and comes with features that I dont think are really necessary and the CX doesnt come with enough, or at least it will cost you to get them added. That is why the buick rendezvous cxl was just right for me. If you ever get a chance to get behind the wheel of one, you will understand what I mean.

The buick rendezvous cxl kinda looks like the pontiaz aztec, but better. Its not near as boxy, and is actually quite a bit longer. Well, actually just 4 inches, but thats enough to add a third row seating if you want. So how much storing does that break down to in the buick rendezvous cxl? Well, there is a total of 18.1 cubic feet behind the third seat, and behind the second seat there is a total of 54.5 cubic ft, which is pretty darn good. But if you need more then that, you can fold down the third row and remove the second row for a total storage size of 108.9 cubic feet. Its just good to know that its there if you need it

Well, in my opinion, the buick rendezvous cxl is by far the best model to go with, unless of course money is no object and then you can just go with the ultra model. But if you’re on a budget but still looking for a really nice ride, then you really cant go wrong with the buick rendezvous cxl!

I myself was looking into getting a 2004 buick rendezvous and figured that I would share with you what I came across, so you could decide whether or not this model of the buick rendezvous is right for you. Lets face it, you’re gonna be getting a buick rendezvous, you’re just not too sure which one.

Well, at first glance the 2004 buick rendezvous does seem to be a pretty good buy. It comes with a v6 engine, front-wheel drive based from gms minivans, and a third row for seating. The buick rendezvous also comes in three different packages, the rendezvous CX, CXL, and the new ultra models. The buick rendezvous CX and CXL come with a 185 hp, 3.4 liter V6 and a choice between all wheel drive or front wheel drive. The ultra version of the buick rendezvous comes with an amped up 245 hp V6 engine and is also all wheel drive. No matter which 2004 buick rendezvous you choose to go with you’re gonna get a 4 speed automatic transmission. If you go with the CX and want ABS and airbags, make sure the buick rendezvous you’re getting comes with it because it was an option on the CX models. The other 2 models of the buick rendezvous, those features came standard so you don’t have to worry.

Some other things you’ll want to pay attention to when looking at the 2004 buick rendezvous in regards to features are the seating options, rear-obstacle detection, satellite radio, head up instrument display, rear dvd entertainment, and on star.

When it comes to the seating on the 2004 buick rendezvous, second row seating options are a bench or twin bucket seats for the CX and CXL. If you go with the buick rendezvous Ultra, you’re gonna get the bucket seats with a third row bench that fits 2. The third row bench for the otherr two models is an optional feature. The buick rendezvous Ultra also comes with all the bells and whistles standard, like the rear obstacle detection, satellite radio, and head up instrument display. Once again, if you go with one of the other models of the buick rendezvous and want these features, double check to make sure they have them because they did not come standard with those models.

You can also get a few other non standard options, like dvd entertainment for the kids and onstar. Actually onstar is standard on both the CXL and the Ultra, but is available as an option for the buick rendezvous CX. And if you go with the CX model, you actually can’t have the optional dvd in the back.

So there you have it, a basic review for the 2004 buick rendezvous and what comes with the different models. I should be coming up with some more facts and info on the buick rendezvous, like what kind of mpg the 2004 buick rendezvous gets and what kind of problems the 2004 buick rendezvous has, if any. So stay tuned for more helpful info on the 2004 buick rendezvous!
